Postcards From No Man's Land
After finishing the chapter where Daan takes Jacob to a kind of art museum to show him a portrait of Titus by a famous artist named Rembrandt. Throughout the entire chapter Daan shows the portrait to Jacob and also talks about the history, the meaning, and his feelings towards the portrait, and Jacob doesnt know what to say back to Daan because everything he says is so deep and personal to him and everything he has studied about the history of art. The main question i got after reading this chapter was why, why was this chapter in the book and really what was the purpose of it. After fully reading it i got very little ideas from it like ways that Jacob relates to this Titus character but i feel like there is more to it and i can't figure it out.
